EU Sustainable Energy Week – EUSEW is the premier event for public authorities, energy agencies, private companies, NGOs and industry associations engaged in helping to meet the EU’s energy and climate goals. It features activities dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions in Europe and around the world.

EU Sustainable Energy Week 2014 took place from 23 to 27 June 2014. For the 2014 edition, Energy Days were organised during the whole month of June. Throughout the Week, around 1000 Energy Days also took place in more than 48 countries across Europe and beyond. Aimed at the general public and stakeholders, these events promoted energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in an engaging, accessible and interactive way. EUSEW participants were able to organise their schedules to include a wide range of activities in different locations across the city, such as seminars, workshops, debates and exhibitions.

The Week hosted a lively, High Level Policy Conference (HLPC) in Brussels. More than 2,000 people attended to exchange ideas with other actors in the sustainable energy sector, meet EU staff and pursue business opportunities. The High Level Policy Conference took place during three days in the Charlemagne building. 32 events and (policy) sessions were organised by both European institutions and external stakeholders. A highlight of the Week is the prestigious Awards ceremony. Hosted by EU Commissioner for Energy, Günther H. Oettinger, the event combined the eight edition of the Sustainable Energy Europe Awards (SEE) with the ManagEnergy Award. Six ambitious projects in the area of energy efficiency, renewable energy and clean transport were selected as worthy winners from 342 entries from across Europe. Simultaneously, during the Energy Week, about 700 Energy Days took place in more than 40 european countries.

During the Energy Week the Pomorskie Regional EU Office coorganised a conference „The Power of European Clusters” in Brussels. The moderator of the event was Richard Tuffs, the director of European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN) and the speakers were among others Carsten Schierenbeck from DG Enterprise and Industry, specialist in cluster policy, and dr Sylwia Polesek-Karczewska from The Baltic Eco-Energy Cluster. The main topics of the conference was the role of clusters in realisation of national and regional Smart Specialisation Strategies and the aims and realisation of European cluster policy.
