In frame of the "Creative Circular Cities" project (Interreg BSR) we present the exhibition as a part of Gdynia Design Days Festival.
The exhibition “Closer to waste” guides visitors through intimate stories of objects, materials and waste – from their beginnings, through the relationship they formed, to the transformations that brought them to the stage at Gdynia Design Days. Objects and materials shape our everyday lives. They serve us, shelter us, care for us, improve our quality of life. They accompany us in both the happy and difficult moments of our lives. Yet, when we find a newer, more attractive model, we leave them behind with ease. Rejected and abandoned, they rarely return to the second market. So we explore the idea of closeness to understand how we can build more durable and healthier relationships with the material world around us. We present several objects which didn’t become waste and fascinating stories behind them.
The event is open from 20 to 28 June 2028.
