Municipalities from Pomorskie Voivodship: Czersk, Człuchów and Kobylnica beside 18 other municipalities were given the title of Green Energy Leaders – a prize awarded to municipalities, which for years shared their experiences in the use of renewable energy in their area.

The winning municipalities participating in the contest, which took away at a conference summing up the statues, are: Barciany, Cmolas, Czersk, Człuchów, Elk City, Janow Podlaski, Jarocin, city Jasło, Kobylnica, Korsze, Krasnik, Marklowice, Morawica, Niepołomice, city Płońsk, Przechlewo, Steel Will, Stupsk, the town of Wieliczka, Wierzchoslawice and Vineyard.

The aim of the contest was to promote good examples of the use of renewable energy sources in the Polish communities. Was organized by the Foundation for the Promotion of Polish Municipalities and Local Government PAP Service partner.

Local authorities should take care of it, to be the least dependent on the energy system and the least use of energy networks – said during a conference with Vladimir Pomierny Mazowiecka Energy Agency. He urged local governments to promote use of renewable energy sources.

Jacek Hur, Mayor of receiving a statuette of Janow Podlaski Green Energy Leader said that the site was an important element of the economic community consisting of investments in the modernization of municipal boiler. Oil boilers are listed there for biomass-fired.

Conference summarizing the project took place on 27 October in the renewable energy Fair RENEXPO Poland.
