On 5th December Pomorskie Regional Office in Brussels organised a meeting with Pomeranian Universities Rectors. Among the guests were: prof. Janusz Moryś (rector of Medical University of Gdansk), prof. Piotr Jędrzejowicz (rector of Gdynia Maritime University), prof. Henryk Krawczyk (rector of the Gdansk University of Technology Gdansk), dr Monika Zajkowska (rector of the Hanseatic College of Management in Slupsk) and dr Małgorzata Godlewska (dean from The Ateneum College). The meeting was chaired by Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship and attended also by Mr Jan Kozłowski, MEP from Pomorskie Region.
In the first part of the meeting, Ms Małgorzata Misiewicz from the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU gave a detailed presentation on the activity of Polish and Pomeranian universities in the 7th Framework Programme (FP7). Her presentation was followed by the intervention of Mr Grzegorz Ambroziewicz from the European Commission who elaborated on the strategies for Intelligent Specialisation.
The second part of the meeting consisted of the presentation of the activities of the ERRIN network, presented by its director Mr Richarrd Tuffs, which was later followed by the examples of good practices from Brussels-based liaison offices, which were provided by: Ms Marta Truco (A-4U universities), Ms Emily Palmer (The EuroTech Universities), Ms Anja Lurson (representation of Berlin) and Mr Alexandru Marchis (OPERA Research Center).
The final part of the meeting was devoted to the discussion of possibilities of cooperation between Pomeranian universities and the Pomorskie Regional Office EU in Brussels.
