The fifth presidency of Greece will last till 1 July 2014 and will be followed by Italy. One of the main issues being the part of the Hellenic priorities concerns the field of jobs and growth. Boosting job creation and investing in growth that benefits the economy are the most important actions to carry out. Greece’s activities will be focused on SMEs by improving their access to finance.
Eurozone is an important field responsible for the further integration in UE. Taking this issue into consideration and following the new EMU architecture, Greece will put an emphasis on the promotion of the banking union. What is more, implementation of the new EU/Eurozone economic governance mechanisms will also reflect the key points of the Hellenic Presidency.
Maritime Policies are also highlighted by Greece as one of the main priorities for the following months. The country will focus on two dimensions, such as security and growth, including energy. What is more, it will play a pivotal role in maritime spatial planning and it will promote all initiatives on the field of Maritime and Coastal Tourism.
